Terms & Conditions

Attendance:  If you are unable to attend your placement due to sickness or any other reason, you must inform the Clinical Placement Administrator as soon as possible.

Name Badge:  You will be required to wear a name badge at all times whilst you are on any site associated with the Trust during your placement. This will be given to you on arrival of your first day.

Uniform:  You are not expected to wear a uniform, but you are expected to dress appropriately for the workplace. Footwear should be suitable for the environment (enclosed flat shoes). Clothing should be clean and smart and jewellery must be small and discrete. Jeans, trainers, and clothing with offensive logos are not acceptable.

Confidentiality:  Any information of a confidential nature, in particular information relating to the diagnosis and treatment of patients, individual staff and/or patient records, and details of contract prices and terms must under no circumstances be divulged or passed on to any other unauthorised person or persons.

The prohibition on divulging information of a confidential nature includes any posting of information on social networking sites, such as Facebook, and the disclosure of any confidential information through texts, emails, blogs or any other form of electronic media.

The placement may be terminated if confidentiality is breached.

Internet Usage: You are not allowed to use the internet for personal use during your placement whilst you are on the Trust’s premises.

For the avoidance of doubt, you are prohibited from accessing any social networking sites whilst on the Trust’s premises during your placement. 

Health and Safety at Work Act: You are reminded that in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, you have a duty to take reasonable care to avoid injury to yourself and to others by your work activities, and are required to comply with the Trust’s policies in meeting these statutory requirements. A copy of the Health and Safety policy is available for inspection

Occupational Health Clearance:  All placements are subject to receiving Occupational Health clearance.  If clearance is not received then the placement will be retracted.  Failure to return the enclosed Occupational Health form will also result in the offer of a placement being retracted.

Criminal Offence:  Should you be charged with any criminal offence, either prior to or upon commencing the placement, this must be reported immediately to your supervising manager or Clinical Placement Administrator.

Personal Property:  During the course of your placement the Trust will not accept any responsibility in respect of theft, loss or damage to your personal property.

Payment:  The purpose of the work placement is to enable you to gain experience of the working environment.  You are not in any sense employed or working for the Trust and are therefore not entitled to any payment in respect of your work placement.

Termination of Placement:  As situations change quickly in healthcare settings the Trust reserves the right to terminate this placement at any time.
